About VSO

VSO is the world's leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. Our high-impact approach brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, promote international understanding and action to change lives and make the world a fairer place.

Role overview

The aim of the VSO Alumni and Networks project is to find and mobilise our unique asset of an estimated 80,000 former VSO volunteers and employees across the world, so that they can make a stronger, more cohesive contribution to VSO's mission of bringing people together to fight poverty.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of data-related tasks. Existing records are held in several different locations and formats. These records will need to be merged, consolidated or re-input into SalesForce. Data collection and validation of existing data on former VSO volunteers and employees is an important and confidential task which is expected to take approximately six weeks.

Skills, qualifications and experience required

Essential skills include:

  • Confidence and accuracy in Windows operating systems, Excel spreadsheets, and other current media formats.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze data from a variety of sources to a basic level.

The project would welcome a returned volunteer to be responsible for this task, ideally starting in mid November 2015.
